Santiago is an Austin-based Mexican-American film producer, director and event planner.
He is a UT alumni with a bachelor's degree in Radio, Television, and Film and a minor in Government. He began his time at UT as a liberal arts major but found himself drawn to the vibrant filmmaking community and art scenes around campus which prompted him to take a leap of faith and switch to film school. There he learned the ins and outs of film production by working on countless sets in a variety of roles from AD to BTS photographer.
Since then, Santiago has produced and directed a wide variety of projects from short films, and spec-ads, to music videos. He has interned at the production company HIVEMIND (Netflix’s The Witcher and Del Toro’s Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark) and worked as a production intern for KVRX’s Local Live (a live music show that has hosted the likes of Mitski). Santiago also worked as a production assistant for Paramount’s CMT Country Music Awards hosted in Austin. He was also part of the Gotham EDU Film And Media Career Development Program
